Menses: There are a number of potential causes of an early period followed by spotting 2 weeks later.  The first question is does the patient have regular cycles and is this abnormal.  Could she be pregnant?  Another possibility is that she may be ovulating.  As mentioned there are a number of potential causes which your physician can help you figure out the cause.

Spotting: Spotting is  one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Menstrual: this sounds like pre-menstrual spotting and bleeding. This also depends on your age, menstrual cycle. and recent sexual activity. Monitor your cycles with a menstrual calendar, noting (s)-start, (e)-ends, (sp)- spotting (B) - blleding and HB( heavy bleeding)&gt; This will be useful to you and your GYN.
