i get mittelschmerz pain since i had my twins.  i noticed a trend.  every other month i experience the ovulation pain on both sides.  is this abnormal?

Early pregnancy: We can get a better idea of the conception date after your have had your dating and viability scan.  This ultrasound will help determine who far along you are and make sure the pregnancy is normal.

No: There is no evidence at all to recommend it. Until they show some studies to support their claims, i'd consider it 100% waste of money. There is no evidence - and no reason at all to believe - Fertilaid will cause multiple ovulations, i likely has no impact on ovulation whatsoever. Good wishes.

No natural way: There is no way naturally to increase ovulation numbers. There are medications which can cause multiple ovulations. You need to seriously consider why you want to do this. The risk of problems, complications, pre-term births and life long problems are much greater for multiple births than singleton births. Are you willing to risk these things with your kids for a multiple birth?

Get evaluated: You did not say age or length of time ttc but a good infertility evaluation should be done if you are older. The bc should have gotten rid of any cysts so if your are not ovulating normally there could be something else going on, perhaps pcos or a luteal phase defect.

Twins increased: The risk for twins in the general population is about 2 or 3%.  The risk for twins when taking Clomid (clomiphene) is about 10 to 12%.

Not sure: I'm not sure what you are referring to by the term, "hyper ovulation gene". Are you referring to ovarian cancer?  See a family doctor or an ob/gyn to discuss your family tree and history to make sure you're not at increased risk of a genetic cancer.  Consider re-phrasing the question, as well, when you have a more specific name for the hyper ovulation gene.

Who knows?: If you are taking clomid (clomiphene) and metformin, you probably have PCOS and infertility. Concentrate on pregnancy first of all. Chances of twins are more genetic than anything else. You may have mild discomfort with ovulation. There are ovulation tests available. The final proof of ovulation is conception. GOOD LUCK.

Unlikely : Several follicles containing eggs begin mature each cycle. One usually becomes the dominate follicle and ovulates. The others simply atrophy and go away. That sounds like what is happening to you. In the case of identical twins one egg is fertilized and then divides to produce 2 embryos. This could still happen. Hope this helps.

At Ovulation: Your best time to conceive is when you are ovulating, however there is no best time to conceive twins. You have a 5-8% chance of having twins with clomid (clomiphene). 95% of pregnancies on Clomid (clomiphene) are not twins.  Whether you have twins or not depends on the number of good eggs you make, how many fertilize and implant.  Good eggs are less common in 41 yr old women.
