Throat: If its new could be the onset of a cold but if its on one side could have a  dental cause such as a cavity or a jaw issue.If so check it out with your dentist

Dr. can check throat: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is very sore, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). The doctor will also look into the ears to check for an ear infection.

Phone Call: You'll need to make a phone call to a local dentist for an appointment. If you have been in pain for two weeks, the problem is obviously not transient. Could be your wisdom teeth, a cavity, or an abscess... needs to be seen to be diagnosed. Make the call and feel better soon...

i just recovered from step and took amoxicillin for 10 days but my throat still is sore and have earaches and not sure what that is?

: You have had a viral upper respiratory infection and you are a strep carrier. Earache is not an uncommon symptom in this case. You can take acetaminophen (tylenol) for both sore throat and earache for a couple days. 10 day course of amox is more than enough. You should feel normal soon.

Depends: It depends on a few things. One would be her age. If she is a child, i might be concerned for an ear infection. If her symptoms started with congestion, the earache might be from the congestion causing pressure on the ear. A decongestant might help. If this is the case, it is likely a virus but you may want to see your doctor to be sure it's not an ear infection.
