Unlikely herpes: Herpes usually presents as a cluster of small water filled bubbles surrounded by redness. The fluid becomes yellow and then forms a scab.  A solitary area of redness with one single area of pus is more likely to be a pimple related to an infected hair follicle.  The fluid in a herpes lesion is contagious and one should avoid contact.  A person with recurrent fever blisters can infect others.

my boyfriend is allergic to penicillin am i am taking it for an ear infection. can we kiss or have sex without it affecting him?

Accepted Answer

Depends on: his level of sensitivity, but probably yes.  If he has true allergy to penicillin with anaphylaxis, you might want to be more careful.  But usually allergies are not anaphylactic, but skin reaction or some other minor reaction.  True anaphylactic allergy is rare.

Halitosis: Bad breath can be caused by many different factors, including sinus infections, periodontal problems, smoking, cavities, acid reflux, and your diet. Address all of these possibilities with your dentist and physician, and I'm confident that your problem will at least be minimized, and hopefully eradicated.

Could b strep throat: It is probably ok to watch for 1-3 days, depending on how bad it hurts and other symptoms.

You should see a doc if you also have fever, headache, tummy ache, or if your ear is really sore

drink plenty of fluids, get enough rest

if the boy is sick, that could also give you info about what you might have.

No: If you had Meningococcal meningitis you would not be asking the question.  This rapidly progressive, often fatal illness does not leave much time for self indulgence.  Your nose may be stuffy and runny for many reasons.  If it keeps up and you find it disturbing, see a doctor.

Possible: Whenever we share body fluids there's always a chance of an infection being passed along. The ear pain is probably referred pain from the throat. Gargle warm salt water, eat soft cool foods and if not better in 5 days see MD - sooner if significant fever/vomiting/rash.
