Ear pain: Could be an inner ear infection.  Get it examined if ear pain lasts more of Han 3-4 days or worsens

Acquired problem: Unfortunately, the peroxide turns to into water after use and too much moisture in the ear canal can lead to overgrowth of germs/fungus.You may have triggered the equivalent of "swimmers ear".A solution of alcohol and vinegar may help it dry out and eliminate the fungus, but may be too painful to use.Make a call to your doc &amp; see if they want you to come in or just send out meds.

Ear infection ?'s: Manual cleaning of wax buildup in the ear canal can be very painful even if done by an ENT physician.  Unlikely to cause an infection, but if pain continues , go back to the ENT for an exam and appropriate treatment.

Pain: It could be the hydrogen peroxide itself.  However if you have done this is the past without pain likely you have an external otitis.  Get checked.  An ototscope exam would tell what is wrong.

Be seen: Most likely, as you suspected, you have ear wax plugging your ear canal. H2o2 has been used by folks to dissolve it but that is a harsh chemical that can damage skin, especially if used full strength. Safer ways exist to clean out an ear. Also, other things can cause that problem that might be in a different part of the ear, so the best approach is to have someone who knows what they are doing loo.

Fluid in ear: As long as there is no problem with the eardrum, you can try using a hair dryer held at arm's length pointed at the ear to evaporate the fluid.  Or you can try a couple drops of isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) after the peroxide, then air drying.  Otherwise, a visit to the ENT doctor may be in order- he/she has the equipment needed for further suctioning without causing harm to the eardrum.

: Hydrogen peroxide breaks down to water when it releases oxygen. If it remains for an extended time in the canal it can be absorbed &amp; trigger all the issues swimmers sometimes have with retained water. If the eardrum is intact, it is harmless if you get it out after use.

Hydrogen Peroxide: Don't recommend that  you start pouring chemicals into your ears. The higher the concentration the more chance there is for tissue damage. If you are having ear problems consider seeing an ENT Dr. Products like Murine, Auro &amp; Debrox contain Carbamide Peroxide. They are made to clean ears.  If you use these - follow directions on box. Some people do use Hydrogen peroxide to loosen ear wax.
