i am getting small red pimples on my back, neck and arms. it is not itchy but when i do get them, they sort off drain me out. i did an allergy test a few years ago and i am allergic to dust mites, could this be bites?

Maybe not: Check out your shampoo (which drains down your back &amp; shoulders). Shampoos with chemicals called parabins have bees associated with bacne in some people. Try a parabin free product &amp; this may disappear.

Probably not: If this were true, there would be more in the city than in the countryside and neither I nor anyone I've read about has observed this. Don't look for a cause for your acne. It's fruitless. Treat it. If topical benzoyl peroxide has not cleared you in two weeks, get with your personal physician who can add something that will.

Don't look for cause: Acne is unrelated to hygiene or lifestyle and only marginally to diet. Don't try to figure out the cause, but manage your illness until it self-cures with age. If topical benzoyl peroxide has not cleared you in 2 weeks, get with your personal physician who can add prescription-strength rx.

Get seen: You need to have this examined. I wonder whether you have seborrhea as well as acne, or some less-common illness.

Pimples are hormonal: Allergy to dust or pollen can irritate sking but your pimples at this age are probably due to the hormonal changes your body is going through at 16 years.
You should try over the counter medicines such as Bezoyle Peroxide daily after washing your face with water and if the problem persists after three months, get a prescription for Retin A (tretinoin) or similar medicine.

: What is your reason to not get tested? A simple blood test can settle the issue. Untreated syphilis can have serious consequences years after infection. Get tested.

Unknown if cause: or coincidental. Studies have found that about 40% of people have the mites on their skin, and they are more frequently seen on people with psoriasis, rosacea and acne than healthy skin, but no studies to proven cause and effect or whether the increased sebum in those conditions is conducive to growth.  Permethrin or 5% tea tree oil may improve the inflammation if used for several weeks.

Different symptoms: While bug bites can lead to a rash, dust mites (and their fecal pellets) trigger asthma and allergic rhinitis especially at night.  Dust mites can trigger eczema in some.
