i had a clinical misscarriage on 31/03 . then i developed an ovarian cyst and had no period for 2 months. estradiol was very high & progesterone low. the doctor prescribed duphaston & then contraceptive pill. the blood won't stop for 2 weeks. why?

: There is insufficient information to be able to evaluate your management properly, but ovarian cysts are common, as is a delay in menses after a miscarriage, and your hormone levels sound normal. Also, when starting the pill breakthrough bleeding is not unusual. Chances are good that once you finish your current pill pack and start the next that things will improve.

how does duphaston work to break down a follicular ovarian cyst? how will i know if the cyst is getting smaller. will i bleed? follow up u/s in 3 week

It doesn't: Duphaston is a progestin hormone, and is used to bring on a period in someone not ovulating or to prevent overgrowth of the uterine lining. It has also been used to treat endometriosis. Follicle cysts usually resolve over time. If it does not go away, it may need to be removed laparoscopically.

my last period oct18, finished taking duphaston 10days ago, negative hcg urine test, no ovarian cyst, today dec17 and no period, what can it be?

No menses: If you do not have bleeding after Progesterone withdrawal, there can be several causes. 1) pregnant and too early to check urine 2) the lining of the endometrium is too thin to get a bleed (called a silent period by some) 3) something blocking the cervix (doubtful because last month regular period). See your doctor.

hpts were negative. i went for a check up and i was diagnosed w/ pcos & ovarian cyst and i was prescribed duphaston. i bled the 2nd day after finishing duphaston. is there a chance that a baby can be missed on a transv ultrasound at around 15 weeks?

No:  15 weeks of gestation would be seen on the sonogram.

i am 47. have a 5cm simple ovarian cyst on left. ca 125 ok. taking primolut tablets. now have slight pain on both left/right sides. is cyst growing?

Follow up visit: We would not be able to know the status of the cyst without an examination and sonogram. Consider scheduling follow up with your doctor to determine what is causing the pain.

PCOD: Polycystic ovary disease can stop your periods. Regular exercise, a healthy diet, weight control and not smoking are other ways to help treat this condition. The medications to regulate your period are necessary as well.

No: The morning after pill and pills used for medical abortions are not associated with ovarian cyst formation.

i have had an ovarian cyst for 3 months and was taking the pill when i got it.  i stopped taking the pill 2 days ago.  will this make my cyst worse?

Unlikely: Depending on it's size you may want to watch it closely, but it is as likely to go away as to get worse. Since it developed in spite of being on the pill it is not likely to act differently simply because you are now off of the pill.

is that possible to have ovarian cyst or cancer while i'm on pill? i have thought oc reduces the risk.

Possible: Ovarian cysts are quite common and often harmless. Pill does not prevent the development of ovarian cancer, even if it may help in reducing the incidence on a population basis.

could you tell me how to decrease size of ovarian cyst? maybe endometrioma. i wanna try everything i can do before having another surgery. am on pill.

Patience: Stay on the pill and give it time.  If this is a "functional" cyst, it will go away over the course of a couple cycles.  Stay on the pill in the meantime - you are doing everything right.
