Bartholin cyst: What you described is likely to be a cyst due to blockage of the duct of a gland. It is not a cause for concern, unless it gets infected. If it does not get bigger, is not painful, then you may wait till your next visit to the doctor to have it examined.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine.

i have an itching and sometime dry problem on my vagina especially a week towards my periods. it has been happening for years and ive gone for pap smear twice and the results always come back as minor fungal infection. please help

Yeast infection?: One of the main causes of vaginal itching is genital candida (yeast) , which indeed is a "minor viral infection". Yeasts are normal in the vagina and someimes overgrow or allergy develops to them, causing symptoms. Many or most women experience yeast symptoms from time to time. Speak with your doctor, or try an OTC anti-yeast product with active ingredient ending in "azole" (miconazole &amp; others).

Vaginitis : The amount of gel used during a pelvic exam is very small and the gel is clear, so this should not be the cause. Thick white clumpy discharge is usually related to a yeast infection. See your doctor for evaluation. Take care!

Hello. : Hello. There isnâ€™t much info here. First question is this an abnormal vaginal discharge or not?  Normal discharge from the vagina is a white liquid with no odor. It usually has a ph (how acidic it is) between 3.8 to 4.2. Normal discharge should not lead to itching or pain.  There is usually more of this discharge during ovulation, right before your period and when pregnant.
        If you are younger than age 21 years old, than it is likely that the doctor wonâ€™t do a pap smear. The american college of obstetricians and gynecologist recommend that it not be done until 21 and be done every two years until you reach the age of 29.
    If the doctor believes you have an unhealthy vaginal discharge the doctor will likely check the ph of the secretions.   He or she look at a small amount of it under a slide with potassium hydroxide (which is why they call it a KOH test) usig a microscope to look for yeast. Gram stains and cultures may also be done to check for bacteria.  Your doctor also may test you for certain infections that include sexually transmitted diseases.

Could be bacterial : vaginitis,  getting checked for this while seeing your doctor for pap testing, can get you on a best plan of treatment.

rare: Most times a pap smear itself causes no vaginal pain.  If not sexually active putting in the speculm might hurt a little during insertion.  If the is stll pain prior to leaving the office let your doctor know.

If : If you were experimenting with a foreign object and now you believe it is inside of your vagina, and you are unable to retrieve it, then you need to see your family doctor or gynecologist right away. I am not sure if this happened a while ago or recently. Regardless, you should see your doctor. He or she will put a speculum inside your vagina and will be able to see any foreign bodies that could possibly be there. If this in fact happened a while ago and you do not have any signs of infection (fever, heavy discharge with odor, pelvic pain etc.) then there is likely nothing there.
