i have a dry, extremely itchy patch of skin on my foot. i thought it was my eczema, but it won't go away. what can i use to help clear it up?

See a Doctor: Any skin lesions should be evaluated for their clinical appearance and history for consideration of biopsy. Not all lesions needs biopsied but it is best to check with your doctor.

Itch : You can try an otc cortisone cream that treats itching but you may have an infection ( fungal ) that needs a stronger rx cream.

See a dermatologist: May be pitted keratolysis. Ventilate your feet. Go barefoot at home. Remove sox in bed.

why have i got a dry patch of skin wear i wear my bra can it be eczema it's really itchy ? cos i suffer from it on my feet can it spread ?

ECZEMA: Is there metal in your bra? Probably you are allergic to it and yes it could be eczema on contact dermatitis. If you  are sure that foot lesion is not fungus  that  can spread just eczema then try your steroid cream otherwise see your doctor.

Tough Call: This is a challenging question because a photo of what you are describing would provide a lot of insight into the cause of your problem.  You should see a dermatologist to check this out.  This could be many things including, Tinea pedis (fungal infection), Dishydrotic Eczema, Lentigenes, Psoriasis and many other things.  Get it checked out.  Good luck.

on my right foot there are what i guess patches of irregularly shaped white flaky skin? i am not sure if it is just dry skin or athlete's foot.

Or other?: This could also be a number of other foot disorders including psoriasis, porokeratosis plantaris, plantar warts, etc..  See a dermatologist or podiatrist

i have very dry and cracked feet.  tried lotions and creams.  patches of skin are coming off making it painful to walk.  any suggestions?

Lotion often: This is very common. Callusing is a build up of dead skin. As the skin dries out, it shrinks. The tension on the skin, as it shrinks, causes the skin to split. This can split into live skin causing pain and at times, bleeding.  Using a foot cream with urea can be quite helpful. The higher the urea content, the better. We use 40-50% urea in a cream.  If not severe, use a good lotion daily. Dr l.

a few months ago,i had athlete's foot.this time its just plain circular patch thats cracked, feels dry,red,& itchy skin (top of foot).is it different?

There are different: rashes with different causes. We won't be able to diagnose you with the available information. You would need history, physical examination and often lab tests to accurate assess this. Take care.

i have a patch of dry peeling skin on the bottom of my feet and it itches. i'm assuming it's eczema. i want to know for sure and if there's anything i can do to get rid of it?

Options: Could be eczema or fungal infection.
If it clears up after 2 weeks of topical antifungal then you have your answer.
