i'm having dry mouth and nose at night before sleep, and heart palpitation and i suddenly jerk (just in the moment before i fall asleep) then i try again to sleep, and it repeat sometimes many times, until i fall asleep finally. what's the reason?

: Hypnic or hypnagogic jerks are common and benign and they seem likely among many other possibilities. Use of a humidifier by the bedside may help the nasal and mouth dryness during the cold season if having the heat on.

what to do if i cannot breathe clearly out of my nose at night, and i'm getting extreme dry mouth issues. help?

Nasal strips: Other than undergoing nasal surgery to open airway like from a deviated septum or enlarged adenoids, you may want to try the nasal strips that are placed on the outside of nose to hold it open.  It can be used during athletic events, also.  It has an adhesive side and a internal stiff band to hold and open the airway.  This should allow you to breathe thru your nose easier.  Try it.

can having a stuffy nose and postnasal drip cause dry mouth at all? also, why does it seem as though the postnasal drip is worse at night, even when i'm not laying down?

: Post nasal drip can be caused by different conditions like sinusitis ,and hay fever ,and dry mouth can be associated with silent acid reflux . Washing  out the nasal passages with saline spray can help if used sparingly. However ,if the underlying problem is not corrected , you may continue to have symptoms , so it is advisable to get an ENT evaluation to diagnose the cause of the post nasal drip.

Mouth breathing: Your nose is sufficiently blocked to force you to breath through mouth while sleeping.  Check for allergies or enlarged adenoid glands.  Some orthodontic malocclusions also lead to mouth breathing.

Thin the mucus !!: Dry mouth can be associated with dry nose and dry eyes, is called sicca syndrome and because of the decrease of fluid content, the mucus become more dense. There are several causes for this problem including medications, poor fluid intake and a rheumatic disease called Sjogren's syndrome. Check your medications, increase nasal saline and fluid intake and might need to have a few lab tests. Best

Lubricant: I've heard of some that will rub vaseline over the areas before they go to bed.

Breathing: I suspect it has to do with having to breath through your mouth because your nose is closed.  Since you have to breath, unstuffing your nose will be key to reducing the dry mouth.

Varied symptoms: A viral upper respiratory tract infection or allergies could be the cause of the stuffy head. The chest discomfort is nonspecific and could be the harbinger of a bronchial infection or may simply be a muscular irritability. None of these explain ankle swelling which has various causes such as vein insufficiency, heart, liver, or kidney disorders. If symptoms persist or worsen visit your physician.
