how do you take a pregnancy test with a  suprapubic catheter?  the clinic i went to took it out of my bag. my period is a week late but i got a negative pregnancy test at the clinic.

That works: You can use urine out of the suprapubic catheter to check a pregnancy test. That will work fine. If the pregnancy test is negative a week after your period is due the  you are not pregnant. If you doubt the results you can repeat it

Way too Soon: Yes. Of course. Why would you risk spending money and effort on testing too soon? What is going on that would make you need to get to the doctor before testing is recommended or valid?

ASAP: With a history of multiple miscarriages, early prenatal care is important.  Depending on the cause of the other miscarriages, there may be precautions such as anti coagulation or hormonal therapy to help support the corpus leutem to maintain the pregnancy with a healthy outcome for mom and baby.

Normal: A pregnancy test will be positive as soon as the first day of your missed period. For accurate testing, the first morning urine should be used. You can repeat the test with a different brand if you want to double check. The initial signs of pregnancy are breast tenderness and enlargement, nausea and dizziness. At your first visit, they will do an transvaginal ultrasound to see the gestational sac.

Call them and ask: Depending on where the test was done.  If it was a blood test, call the lab and ask them.  If it was a kit you purchased over the counter at a drugstore, you might find more information including a number to call inside the kit.

No: A pregnancy test measures beta hcg.   Being anemic would have no impact on the results.

Not sure: If you take pills to bring on a period it can be 2-5 days after finishing the pills that the period starts. If you've gone longer than that and no bleeding and you haven't just had a pregnancy test the do one again.

Do a blood HCG: Do a blood quantitative pregnancy test that can determine how much if any of the pregnancy hormone (HCG) is your system.

After missed period: Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about two weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. A negative result on a test done too early is not reliable.
