Get checked again.: If you are still having symptoms, or your symptoms have returned, you are likely on the wrong antibiotic.  See the doc who prescribed this antibiotic and get further testing to see if you need a different type.

currently taking doxycycline (ear & uti) and currently have a yeast infection from a previous antibiotic round (dental surgery). haven't treated it since i started this round of antibiotics. can i start the tioconazole to treat yeast infection?

Could be yes or no: Headaches are multifactorial. Could be dehydration so drink plenty of fluids. Could be the doxy. Could be many other reasons. Never knew doxy to be a great treatment for most garden-variety utis, however.

Your question: Usually doxycycline will have a better spectrum against bowel organisms but clindamycin may be necessary against some bacteria that are only sensitive to clindamycin.

i finished a 7-day script of doxycycline for a uti 1.5 weeks ago and am still have consistent diarrhea. is it normal for a side effect to stick around for this long after finishing a round?

Probiotic: If taking a probiotic and avoiding dairy products does not provide improvement, please see your PCP. You may need to have additional testing. 
Your symptoms may also be indicative of a viral illness. Drink fluids, monitor your temperature and watch for blood or mucus.

does metronidazole work better than doxycycline at curing uti?

UTI Treatment: In my experience I usually take a sample of urine and do an analysis of the urine. If I suspect an infection, or in the patient has symptoms of an infection, I send the urine to the lab for a culture which will tell me if bacteria grow and what type of bacteria.  Also, this will tell me what antibiotic is the best to treat the infection.Metronidazole is not usually used for UTI.

Not sure: Use of antibiotics depend on the  bacteria causing the infection. Urine should be sent  to the lab for culture  to finfd the organism and then sensitivity of the organism to the antibiotics is assessed. Based on the results, antibiotics should be prescribed.  A broad spectrum  antibiotic  eg. Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) may be tried by a physician,  without c&s. Tx of std is similar & depends on the organism involved.

i have rashes/acnes with white liquid (pus?) which can be easily popped on my chest and neck which appeared a week after taking doxycycline for an uti

Doxy can cause a: sun sensitivity that can lead to blisters or rashes on sun exposed skin. I would not pop blisters as they are sterile and there is less risk of infection. Try using aquaphor or vaniply and see a derm to confirm  or refute diagnosis

starting doxycycline tomorrow for uti. take prozac (fluoxetine) and valium. also smoke marijuana. can these interact with doxy? what about alcohol?

Doxycycline no prob: But, combining Prozac, (fluoxetine) Valium and MJ with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants can cause increased sedation and potentially dangerous respiratory depression and death. You should avoid alcohol altogether.

1-2 days, but...: Did a doctor prescribe doxycycline, or are you treating yourself, perhaps with antibiotic left over from another infection? Doxy is not used very often for UTI; it usually would work, but other drugs are more commonly used, such as levofloxacin (Levaquin), sulfa-trimethoprim (Bactrim), or nitrofurantoin (Macrodantin). With effective Rx, urinary pain should start to improve in 1-2 days.
