i know that while taking vibramycin (doxycycline) i should avoid sun exposure..but when can i expose freely to sun after stopping the drug i.e.after how long?!

1 week: The half life of vibramycin (doxycycline) is 18 hours so it would be reasonable to be out of your system in 7 days. Good luck but still wear sun block.

: By PDR: Photosensitivity reactions are believed to be due to accumulation of the drug in the skin and are mostly phototoxic in nature, but photoallergic reactions also can occur with select drugs. Reactions can develop from within a few minutes to up to several hours after exposure and will last for 1 to 2 days after discontinuation of the drug.

5 days into doxycycline and epiduo forte for acne and my face burns with any face product as well as my eyelids burning and theyre red. i dont stay out in the sun i have little exposure. is this normal or an allergic reaction?

Must be seen: and evaluated. I suggest calling the prescribing physician ASAP- today!- Possible allergic reaction or  photosensitivity.

See MD immediately: I am not certain what is causing the problem but i recommend you get in to see a dermatologist immediately.  The skin acts as a barrier to prevent organisms or other toxins from entering our bodies.  If you are loosing your skin, you are at risk for more serious problems.  Find out what this is and get it treated.

Sun: A history of sunburns (even just a couple)  in childhood combined with cumulative sun exposure  from childhood throughout  adulthood dramatically increases one's skin cancer risk.

Irritation?: If your skin is irritated from the sun, moisturize it, but if you have developed a superficial skin inflammation, you need to see your doctor for best advice on topical treatment.

15 minutes 3x/wk: Adequate vitamin d can be produced by sunshine exposure 3 times a week for 15 minutes each time wearing a bathing suit and without sunscreen.

I recommend...: For those with little sun exposure: at least 2000 iu of vitamin d3 and up to 5000 of d3 if your levels are low!

Sun exposure & Vit D: A 2007 study in hawaii showed that sun exposure may not be sufficient to keep vit d levels high in some persons due to a variable response to uv light . Get a blood test to confirm your level or take a suppliment.

Micro needling: "is micro needling combined with sun exposure effective for treating hypopigmented scars?"  micro needling is a new procedure that is supposed to stimulate collagen growth in treated areas and probably won't help for hypopigmented spots. Sun exposure has been a common treatment for that for years though and may help you.
