Good : Good question.  Normally an allergic reaction from Doxycycline would cause a red or purple rash on the face and upper body.   A woman might develop a yeast infection on doxcycline.  In theory, i would think that there could be an overgrowth of  fungus or yeast which could give you a rash around your groin. Talk to your doctor about this.

can bactroban (mupirocin) cause rash on buttocks-i have scant mrsa perianal area. on doxycycline- also using bact waiting for 2nd culture to rule out yeast/fungus?

Contact allergy: Rarely people can develop a contact allergy to bactroban, (mupirocin) but it is seen more commonly with neosporin based creams. Your doctor can prescribe another topical antibiotic if needed.

failed doxycycline 7 day for chlamydia. i was prescribed doxy again, took 1 100mg pill, the next day received ceftriaxone 250mg im and a dose of levaquin 500mg that night. next day took 500mg azithromycin for 4 days. could this cause a rash later?

: Any one of those meds could have caused the rash. Mixing antibiotics like this is typically not advisable because of the risk of C Dificile. It sounds like you may have some resistance to the most common chlamydia treatments. It is vital that you limit infection by using a condom with each and every intercourse.

Doxy can cause a: sun sensitivity that can lead to blisters or rashes on sun exposed skin. I would not pop blisters as they are sterile and there is less risk of infection. Try using aquaphor or vaniply and see a derm to confirm  or refute diagnosis

Many: There are many different classes of antibiotics that you could take if Doxycycline causes a rash.  You should avoid other drugs in this class including tetracycline, Minocycline and tigecycline.  What alternative antibiotic is chosen would depend on what infection or bacteria needed treatment.

Lyme: The treatment for suspected lyme disease w it's characteristic "bulls eye" rash is doxy for 3 weeks. I like to monitor titers w follow up blood tests.

Benadryl (diphenhydramine): 10 ml of oral solution is 25 mg, you can double that if no improvement, i.e. 50 mg/dose, if reaction is more severe go to ER or call 911. Stop the doxycycline, and call your doctor/prescriber, best wishes

Two possibilities: One can have an allergic reaction to the antibiotic itself and will manifest as a rash all over the body. Doxy can also make you more sensitive to sunlight, so you can get sunburn on the exposed areas.
