i took a daytime cold/flu medicine with 650mg acetaminophen 5-6 hours ago. i have a terrible tooth pain that wont go away. is it safe to take a vicodin now?

Toth pain: It is considered relatively safe to do so considering the time between the two but it is best to discuss this with your prescribing physician.

i got prescribed tylenol (acetaminophen) 3 for a bad tooth ache and have only taken one dose 7 hours ago. am i able to have any alcohol in the next couple hours?

Alcohol+Opioids=Bad: In general, one should avoid consuming alcohol w/opioids aka narcotics. Check out http://www.drugs.com/food-interactions/acetaminophen-codeine,tylenol-with-codeine-3.html for potential interactions btwn alcohol + acetaminophen (Tylenol) &amp; codeine. With that said, if you're otherwise healthy and only took one dose 7hrs ago, all I will say is no more than 1 drink/d if female or 2 drinks/d if male.

Yes: Hydrocodone is actually a potent analgesic for tooth pain.  It's only masking the pain, so you should contact your dentist to have this evaluated to determine treatment to resolve the pain.

can i take ibuprofen in addition to acetaminophen/cod #3 (300/30mg) for wisdom tooth pain? the cod doesnt seem to be enough?

: Yes, stagger the medications. #3, then 2 hours later, tylenol, then 2 hours later, #3. Repeat, and see a dentist ASAP.

Yes: There are only 2 layers of cells separating your maxillary sinuses from your upper molar root tips. If you have sinusitis you may have sore feet. Sit down, lean forward and put your face between your knees. If pressure/pain noticeably increases, it's probably a sinus problem. If so, see your PCP or Urgent Care. If not, see your Dentist.

Reasons: Teeth are made up of a hard outer layer(enamel) and a softer layer underneath (dentin). Dentin has nerves and when exposed becomes sensitive. Whitening temporarily makes the enamel more permeable and microscopically exposes the dentin. Also the trays used in whitening can put pressure on the teeth which can cause them to become sore.

Not normal: Please return to the General Dentist or specialist Oral Surgeon that treated you. That practitioner is responsible for your post-surgical care. Hopefully this will not be difficult to resolve.

See dentist: You more than likely have a cavity. You need to see a dentist who will do an exam and probably take an x-ray. If taken care of early enough, a filling will probably take care of the problem.

The right nerve: yes: While i'm not sure of the context of your question, a pinched tooth nerve will cause all sorts of tooth pain and sometimes numbness to a tooth. A common cause is a new filling or crown that is high; this can result in swelling around the tooth and "pinching" of the nerves.
