10 days of...: Or hiccups in a 10 day old infant?  If infant, call pediatrician. If adult, see md. Could be due to irritation of diaphragm from various causes, e.g. Inflammation of esoph/stomach, lung, liver, spleen; ulcer disease, ; tumor of any of above; heart issues; brain lesions; stress, or other. Needs md evaluation. Rx available.

Not an MD...: but have had this same phenomena and was told that it was just a flutter.  However, I'd recommend your checking with your PCP to see if something more if going on.  Couldn't hurt.

Yes: I assuming you mean palpitations, or sensations of your heart beating. If they are persistent, you should see your doctor. Also avoid sudafed as this can make your symptoms worse.

Hiccups : Hiccups may be a sign of an underlying medical condition, so yes you should "get it checked out", 
there are cases when an infection, tumor, or damage from trauma may affect the way your body normally controlls the hiccup reflex, therefore increasing the occurence of hiccups.  Examples of such problems include stroke, multiple sclerosis, tumors, meningitis encephalitis, brain injury secondary to trauma, metabolic disorders and drugs. 
In addition, the following can trigger long-term hiccps: alcoholism, anesthesia, barbiturates
diabetes, electrolyte imbalance, kidney failure, and steroid use.
This problem definitely warrants a visit to your primary care provider for a detailed history, and physical.

Palpitation: If you are young healthy and Physically active person; this is benign (most likely.)
 THis  sudden and Transient racing  of heart beat; feels like "fluttering". High amount of caffeine can trigger this kind of symptoms. If happens repeatedly please bring to your doctors attention
