Diet: Diet with foods with Iron is a great way to absorb Iron.  Good sources of Iron include shellfish, spinach, legumes, red meat, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, turkey, broccoli, Tofu, dark chocolate, fish. Eat up and stay strong.

More info: If you are asking if it is ok to take 1000mg Vitamin C tabs, yes, that is ok for most people (I take them myself actually).  Our bodies get rid of the Vitamin C we don’t use so it is impossible to overdose, though some people get stomach irritation with too much.  VitC is a good antioxidant, helps immune system, &amp; aids wound healing, though the best dose is uncertain.

25-100 mg: I've read that each cigarette depletes our bodies of 25 mg of vit c but am not sure where that number comes from. This won't totally protect you from the immense damage caused by smoking but will reduce that damage somewhat. See

Overdoses of: The fat soluble vitamins: a, d, e &k are of concern. The others, including c, are easily flushed on a daily basis. Daily dose 200mg-6gm are used.. Linus paulng advocated huge doses as a preventitive. No side effects reported. Acorbic acid is an anti-oxidant. Aid in wound healing. ?Scurvy.

: No, it is not too much but it may not be necessary if you have a typical American diet which is often not deficient in vitamin C. In general, taking 250 mg of vitamin C a day is harmless but I still advise my patients so stay away if they have history of kidney stone. In contrast, for patients who take iron pill for iron deficiency then I advise taking a small dose of vitamin C supplement.

No drama: Vit C is very unlikely to cause any toxic impact in the quantity that a child could eat. In some hospitals they give Vit C infusions of super-high quantity in the belief that it has health benefits. Mostly the excess Vit C is urinated out of the system.
