Yes!: Tylenol (acetaminophen) overdose can be associated with drowsiness, changes in level of consciousness  or coma, seizures, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Several otc forms of tylenol (acetaminophen) include the combination of tylenol (acetaminophen) with other drugs such as Codeine (tylenol (acetaminophen) (acetaminophen) 3)  or a cough suppressant (tylenol (acetaminophen) (acetaminophen) cough and sore throat). These drugs can also make a person drowsy even at low doses.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) od is an emergency!

hello i took one meclizine and two acetaminophen 500mg....i feel asleep. although i know that my meclizine cause drowsiness, it never had knocked me out like that. so i'm asking was this site to the tylenol as well?

Meclizine: should only be used under physician guidance under the most extremes of conditions. Do not drive after taking a dose of meclizine.

Yes: Tylenol (acetaminophen) when taken in larger than recommended doses can cause damage to the liver in a delayed manner. This can lead to the patient needing a liver transplant or dying. There is a very effective antidote to this problem, if initiated early (within 8 hours) of the ingestion. She's sleepy from the benedryl (the 'pm') plus, your friend definitely needs to see a psychiatrist. Call 911 or go to the er.

can you take regular claritin 24 hour (non drowsy) with tylenol extra strength?

Sounds ok: If a person had no problems in the past taking Claritin (or Claritin-D) and Tylenol regular strength or extra strength, at separate times of day, then she should have no problem taking the two medications at the same time of day. The two medications have no noticeable effect upon one another.

my 1yo is teething, & its his molars. he is drooling alot & has had a fever for 2 days , i give him tylenol but it isnt coming down. when he gets a fever, he gets drowsy and sleeps, which i know is normal, but when should i worry about his fever?

Teething molars?: There's a reason baby molars are called 2 year &amp; 3 year, not 1 year. Low grade fever (under 100))/drooling/irritability/mouthing everything are signs of teething. If fever over 100, immediately contact Pediatrician. If fever under 100 see pediatric dental specialist, a Pedodontist, to asses order of eruption, Recommended that ALL children have 1st Dental Examination no later than 1st b'day.

i am all stuffed up from an apparent cold.  i drank 1.5 oz of whiskey about 90 minute ago hoping it would help.  is it safe to take either severe tylenol cold (non drowsy) or benedryl in the next hour or so?  im not really a drinker, so i am unsure.

Not safe: It is a bad idea to mix alcohol and Tylenol or cold medicines with acetaminophen.
You may take aspirin or ibuprofen for pain or fever. Drink plenty of fluids/fruit juice.

Not usually : Not usually , if you take only acetaminophen, but sometimes this medicine come as part of other medications like tylenol#3 or 4 or vicodin, then will cause drowsiness.

Sleep apnea???: Hard to say.  The meds might have built up a resistance to helping with sleep and may actually be inducing lack of sleep.  I would consult dr. Asap and you may have to have  a sleep study if this problem persists.

HCG: I have never heard of that.  It is probably something else unless allergy problems.

Accepted Answer

Yes: If someone takes it in the morning and feels drowsy during the day, they can switch to taking it at night.  The daily dose can be taken once a day as long as this is otherwise tolerated.
