Varies.: There are very few "syndromes" with only one appearance, or have a unique characteristic that immediately allows diagnosis at a glance in all cases. See below: Wolf–hirschhorn syndrome (whs), also known as chromosome deletion dillan 4p syndrome, pitt-rogers-danks syndrome (prds) or pitt syndrome.
The most common characteristics include a distinct craniofacial phenotype (microcephaly, micrognathia, short philtrum, prominent glabella, ocular hypertelorism, dysplastic ears and periauricular tags), growth and mental retardation, muscle hypotonia, & seizures.

If the cause is "unknown", the prognosis is better  It is also better if it presents after age 4 months,  is treated right away and if the patient has good response to the treatment. About half live  20 yrs.

Loss of hearing , diabetes , heart failure, aortic valve abnormalities , high blood pressure, just to name a few issues. Life expectancy depends on early diagnosis and intense treatment and follow up. It can be normal  except if there heart defect that is serious.
