No withdrawal: Phenergan use does not cause physical dependence or withdrawals. However, if you use it daily, your body/brain becomes used to it and you may have some rebound insomnia on discontinuence.

Accepted Answer

No withdrawal: in the traditional sense.  Antihistamines do not work by the same mechanisms that alcohol or sedatives do, and there is no real tolerance to effects or a stereotypical withdrawal syndrome.  Sometimes there is a discontinuation syndrome with anxiety, irritabilty and even electric shock feelings, but it is usually mild and transient. The dose can be gradually reduced over a week or so if worried.

Antipsychotic d/c: To try to get off your antipsychotic you need to do this in conjunction with your prescribing professional and tapered slowly over extended period of time.  Also include your loved ones in the process as they may perceive early signs of decompensation. These medications generally take 2-4 wks to get full effect ; same time to see any - signs as u reduce same.  Good luck ; please don't do on own.

No: Withdrawal from medications/drugs/substances results from stopping it after you have taken it long enough for your body to acknowledge that it is no longer receiving it. Different drug characteristics cause for a different required amount of time & different time frame when to expect onset and ending of withdrawal. Sporadic use often doesn't result in withdrawal; everyone doesn't withdraw the same.

NO: Zofran (ondansetron) is an antiemetic. Whatever sedation you may experience that you may think is an "addiction problem" is not. Withdrawl occurs after long periods of drugs with such addictive properties which are abruptly stopped.

: Most people have no significant withdrawal symptoms after taking opioids for only 3 weeks. These minor symptoms probably will clear in a few days. If they don't -- and even if the "slight craving" remains minor -- discuss with your doctor and for sure do your best to not give in to the craving. Good luck.

No single best: There is no single best anti-depressant.  Fluoxetine lacks a withdrawal syndrome due to the extended half-life of its active metabolite.  However, fluoxetine has marked drug interactions and should be carefully cross-checked with other meds.
