Not Really Any: If strep throat is documented through a rapid antigen swab or throat culture, there is no homeopathic  or home remedy cure. Antibiotics are absolutely necessary to prevent any risk of complications, no matter how remote the chance. Rheumatic heart disease, for example, may cause permanent heart damage. Home treatments for pain such as tea with honey, gargling cold liquids, etc may help.

Maybe,maybe not: There are some people that carry group a strep in their throat for months or years at a time & never get sick from it.These strep "carriers" have developed a tolerance to the germ & provide confusion in DX and rx. When the come in with a sore throat from a virus or mono, they test + for strep & are often treated as such. Only blood tests would sort out the true carrier from strep disease.

Antibiotics.: For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes –  see physician & get a strep throat test/ culture. If you have strep throat, antibiotic therapy is imperative to prevent future complications. Eat foods that are soft for sore throat.  Saltwater gargles: mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several x/ day. Pour boiling water over thinly sliced ginger. Steep 5 min.& sip.

1-3 days: Strep is a bacteria that remains very sensitive to penicillin. If treated by mouth it can take 2-3 days to become non contagious. If treated with cr bicillin injection the contagious period is shorter and sometimes more effective. My choice is the shot, your child will feel better quickly and can return to school as early as 24 hours after the shot.

1st Sx will : Strep throat goes through several phases. The acute symptoms will eventually fade in most without rx. During the sub-acute phase, the body continues to make antibodies and a fraction (1/200) develop long term complications including kidney damage, heart damage(rheumatic fever) and brain injury.Antibiotics can stop the  complications if started within ~10 days of first fever.

but having said that it is not wise to let it go untreated as it can cause severe complications like rheumatic fever which can effect your heart or nervous system.It can also cause otitis media, sinusitis, peritonsillar abscess
and delayed complications like
glomerulonephritis is serious.
