Occasionally: Sometimes if the tonsils are very swollen and infected the patient can get what is known as the "hot potato voice". It means that their speech is muffled and distorted. In which case they may actually have an abcess of the tonsil. In my experience most people with strep just have a normal voice, but with a sore throat. Hoarseness is more common with croup and laryngitis.

Unlikely: Most probably it's a viral infection leading to this constellation of symptoms, unlikely to be streptococcal pharyngitis from the outset, although bacteria may kick in later, but symptoms will change. Saline nasal washes, salt water gargles for decongestion remain the mainstay for treatment though, together with voice rest,fluids,bronchodilator for wheezing if you're prescribed one, c MD if worse

Omeprazole dosage: This is not a normal side effect of Omeprazole but it can occur.
. The use of omeprazole would effective if 40 mg is taken only in am before any eating or drinking

Laryngitis: Acute laryngitis sx are hoarse voice, cough, sore throat and other URI sx.Strep throat  has headache, sore throat with exudate, bodyaches , fever, chills and no hoarse voice.

It should: However, if it persists, or continues to concern you, I would recommend you get checked again to confirm that strep was the only thing causing your sypmtoms and/or that the strep has resolved.

Probably not strep : When you develop hoarseness and sore throat it is usually viral not strep or other bacterial infection requiring antibiotics. You can drink more fluids and take pain meds such as Tylenol or Motrin. You should eat soft, bland foods for a few days.

Sounds like: laryngitis. Don't know if you have a viral infection. Strep throat can be rule in or out with a throat culture. Boil freshly sliced, peeled ginger root in water until the tea is tan. Add 3 tbsp of honey. Sip to help relieve sore throat pain and to accelerate healing of laryngitis
