Yes be concerned : Green stools could be blood  if it is more dark garden brownish 
safe a few diapers and consult your pediatrician.

No : No, plz do not stop.  Now, i believe in moderation even in moderation.  Have some greens with each meal and vary them.  Also make sure your chewing properly.  It could be that you are not chewing enough and that's why your poop is so green...Hope this helps.

: The stool color is provided by the bile from the liver that is adds to fecal debris. It starts out a deep green &amp; slowly changes thru greens to yellows to browns as the germs in the intestines metabolize the bile. Green generally means the stool in question moved through faster or was subject to less change by gut germs.

Yes!: It can, but it should not turn your hair or skin green. Don't overdo it with carrots, lest you get an orange hue.

Fiber and water: You should increase your intake of dietary fiber and water. You may take more fiber foods or use a fiber laxative like Metamucil. Drink enough water so that your urine is colorless.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

my baby is 9 weeks old and his stool is spinach green and smells of iron. what can it be? he is on isomil milk and drinks black rooibos tea

No tea: At this age, the baby should not be given tea. Please continue to provide Isomil and watch for signs of dehydration. These signs include dry diapers, dry lips and mouth and reduced tears. Monitor his temperature and if he has a temperature of 100. 4 or higher, please see the Emergency room.

how much spinach do i need to eat to change my poop color? i had like 5 spinach leaves and when i pooped, my poop was a dark tarry black color and it had red streaks in it too. this has never happened before when ive eaten spinach?

Black stool with red: I'm reluctant to attribute this to ingestion of spinach. Truly black, tarry stools are often seen with bleeding from the stomach or duodenum but red blood occurs with bleeding from the anus, rectum or colon. Black stools can be due to taking iron supplements or medications like peptobismol or kaopectate.   See your MD for evaluation if stool appearance can't  explained by iron pills,etc

Normal: Since humans do not have digesting enzyme for cellulose, it is not surprising to see intact corn or bean.

Exam: Impossible to tell based on your description.  Association with spinach is also interesting.  Red blood may be associated with simple things like hemorrhoids, fissures and other lesions of the anal canal.  However, only a thorough exam will allow us to exclude other more significant issues such as vascular abnormalities, polyps and/or cancers.

i had for dinner last night biscuits n gravy i used corn starch instead of flour and a whole can of spinach i keep pooping out undigested spinach and i sqeezed it and a white cloud came out of it could it be from carafate sulcrafate and dicyclomine?

Accepted Answer

: Carafate can sometimes cause the stool to be chalky white. That may be your culprit. It should change back to normal within a day or two. Good luck.
