Not reported: In fact, very much the opposite, at least in men.  One of the side effects of heavier cannabis use is increased levels of estrogen and decreased levels of testosterone, which reduces male pattern hair loss (frontal balding) in men.

Marijuana : Marijuana or alcohol can cause hair loss by its effects on the liver.  Both marijuana and alcohol affect the amount of sex hormones that we have as well.  In addition, other medications can affect hair loss including beta-blockers for hypertension and some blood thinners.
