Marijuana : Marijuana or alcohol can cause hair loss by its effects on the liver. Both marijuana and alcohol affect the amount of sex hormones that we have as well. In addition, other medications can affect hair loss including beta-blockers for hypertension and some blood thinners.

Never heard of this: Have not seen any patients using marijuana experience hair loss, and have not seen it listed as an adverse drug reaction from cannabis anywhere. Very heavy use of cannabis, like very heavy use of tobacco, can decrease blood flow, and this could potentially influence hair loss.
