USUALLY: Propranalol ( a "beta blocker" ) is used to TREAT the symptoms you are having!
You should have your THYROID gland checked before attributing these symptoms to anxiety!

No.: Talcum powder will absorb sweat that has already been excreted, but it cannot prevent sweating; your sweat glands don't know whether you are applying powder or not. Several preventative treatments, both topical and oral, are available, but most require a prescription.

Just kidding. At least check thyroid function. Assuming you're not a diabetic on Insulin experiencing hypoglycemia, the only other endocrine condition to consider would be pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma, which are rare as hens' teeth.
Could be good ol' (idiopathic) hyperhydrosis.

Did it?: Sweating would not be a typical side effect of a low dose birth control pill. Migraines can be triggered by taking contraceptives not usually from stopping them. Schedule a folow up visit but other causes should be considered.

Iontophoresis/BOTOX: It is unlikely that you can prevent this.  So you can try to treat it with clinical strength antiperspirants.  If this doesn't work you can try prescription strength antiperspirants that can be very irritating.  Your other options are  iontophoresis or Botox injections.  Iontophoresis has a high success rate...Over 80%.  
See your dermatologist for further evaluation and treatment.

propranolol is supposed to help thyroiditis, i took it today and got stabbing pains in my thyroid and i am sweating profusely, why is that?

Go to ER: You need to be attended to, propranolol isn't the main treatment for thyroiditis, you need other meds to control the symptoms, good luck

Treatable- see Dr: See a Dr. They can perform tests including iodine-starch test, skin conductance and a thermoregulatory sweat test to determine the patterns and type of sweat disorder. Treatment includes prescription antiperspirants, creams containing glycopyrrolate, nerve blocking meds, antidepressants, and astringents containing tannic acid. Surgical treatments are also available for extreme cases.
