Basil and pesto: In general, there does not seem to be a risk to humans related to consumption of foods containing estagole compounds. Research related to carcinogenicity is in mice at high doses, not at intermittent low doses consistent with human consumption. Pesto-containing food ingested intermittently should be safe for a toddler.

hello ive. had a very loose stomach since yesterday evening and been taking imodiun a/d & pesto bismo, & it seems to not be letting up ! what can i do ?

: If you have no symptoms to suggest a viral gastrointestinal tract infection, this could be mild food poisoning or a case of food intolerance. At this time, drink lots of room temperature liquids, eat only soft foods, not spicy or greasy. Be aware the peptobismol can make stools blackish. Your MD may be willing to order lomotil if diarrhea doesn't improve. ?stool culture to check for pathogens next

i need your expertise, is having whole wheat pasta with green pesto healthy?

Whole wheat: Pasta is better than regular pasta.  Tomato sauce is more nutritious than pesto.  The reason for these dietary choices is important.  If you are trying to avoid carbs its best to avoid pasta,  In general, protein, fat, and carbs at each meal is good and eat brightly colored fruits and vegetables.  Peace and good health.

More likely pine nut: I have seen a fair amount of pesto allergy. Yes, life is sometimes unfair. Usually the problem is the nut. Traditionally pesto is made with pine nut. Commercially walnuts, a more common nut allergen, is used. I have also seen garlic and olive oil allergies. If the problem is truly the basil try substituting cilantro or spinach. Both are good. Bueno appetito.

2 days ago, my stomach started hurting really bad, i noticed it felt hard, and it must have not digested the food. i took pesto bismol. and every morning, it hurts really bad. what else can i do?

: You need to see a doctor and have this pain evaluated. There can be many reasons to be having abdominal pain ranging from constipation to appendicitis. Pain that is lasting more than 2 days needs to be evaluated. So, call your doctor or go to urgent care. You need to have this checked. Good luck to you!

Azithromycin: Azithromycin often causes gastrointestinal problems like pain, nausea, cramps, and even vomiting -- especiallly in the fairly large dose you took. It&#x27;s unpleasant but not harmful and will clear up soon; you should be fine by later this evening. You could try a different antacid, like Tums, Rolaids, Maalox, etc. Or eat a small meal.

: Yes, it is likely due to infection but problem is most often self limited if you are healthy and immunocompetent, do not worry much, you will get better soon, drink well in the meantime.
If you have persistent colicky pain, mucus and blood in stool with low grade fever, go back to urgent care.

Tonsillitis: It would be worthwhile to know the reason you are having pain with your tonsillitis. More than likely youhave a viral infection in which case you can gargle with saltwater, mouthwash, peroxide or other solutions. As a last resort you can ask your doctor for liquid Lidocaine for pain relief.
