Test limitstion: This is a limitation of in office urine screen testing.  The kind that are commonly used have a high error rate.  The next step should be sending the urine out to a laboratory for confirmation.  The tests done there are highly accurate.  Office cup tests are enzyme linked immuno-assay, laboratories can do a test called liquid chromatography/ mass spectroscopy.

Yes.: Hydrocodone metabolizes to oxycodone. Both register as opioids.

Depends on the dose: Oxycodone and hydrocodone are synthetic opioids and belong in the same family as morphine.  Oxycodone is about 1.5-2 times more powerful than hydrocodone on a 1:1 basis.  However, if the dose conversion is not done properly then patient might experience more pain.
