Depends: Oranges are a good source of Vitamin C which you might need to compensate for the diet you seem to be on .  It doesn't matter when you take the orange but it should be added to your overall diet strategy to be part of the calorie restriction plan.  Are you sure it is the orange that is making you gassy?   You can discuss weight loss with a good nutritionist.

NO: Certain vegetables: carrots , squashes, or lots of oranges can cause a condition called hypercarotenemia:P an orange discoloration of face or nose: this is benign and not related to jaundice. Ornages will not cause jaundice.

Be safe: If you are cleaning, peeling, and squeezing the fresh oranges yourself, the risk is probably low.  If, however, you are not directly controlling the preparation, you should probably avoid pasteurized drinks during  pregnancy.

Not Likely: Given your description is doesn't sound like a typical allergic reaction which usually includes one or more of the following within minutes to 2 hours of ingestion: hives, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, wheeze, vomiting, or passing out. Sometimes drinking cold beverages can cause a coughing fit in some people. See an Allergist for further workup and evaluation if concerned.

Meckel's diverticulu: There is a concept called referred pain. Pain felt at the belly button could be generated anywhere in his gut from just outside of his stomach to his mid-transverse colon-in other words, not very specific location. Bring him to his doc and if he is stymied to a peds GI doc. There is also possibility of Meckel's diverticulum. Good luck!

Unlikely: Have her be examined for causes of nose bleeds and throwing up blood, the tests should be up to her doctor. The fluids may serve as irritant for coughing or nausea but not the blood. Good luck.

can drinking 2 to 3 cartons of mango punch (with mango, pear, apple & pineapple juices & mango puree) over the span of a couple of days cause bloating, gas, pain & orange colored stool? if so, how long will the issues last once you stop drinking it?

Accepted Answer

Depends: It would depend on how big those cartons are.  3 30 ml cartons (1 fluid ounce) won't cause any problems but 3 1 liter cartons (33 fluid ounces) certainly could cause these problems.   Usually, things will get better several days after you stop the juice.
