Alopecia, steroids: Topical steroids such as this will help in certain cases of alopecia, such as alopecia areata or if inflammation of the scalp is present. In many cases however they will not induce regrowth. The cause of the alopecia must be established first by a dermatologist, as then any treatment advise can be specific.

Find the cause: If it was from hypothyroidism or thallium poisoning, your life depends on its being detected and treated. If it's from telogen effluvium, it'll eventually heal. If it is from alopecia areata, embrace it. Male or female, it's cleaner and easier to manage. One of my physician friends who has  it loves it, and many of the best athletes / fitness models shave everything.
