i am currently on ortho micronor .35mg. i wanted to know if smoking marijuana affects me if i smoke while on the pill like smoking cigarettes (such as blood clots or stroke... i am 40 years old?

Birth control : Marijuana does not affect the efficacy of progesterone-only birth control pills. These type of pills do not increase the risk of stroke or blood clots like estrogen containing pills.  Marijuana laws vary by state so please check with your local guidelines to determine if this is a legal or illegal activity in your jurisdiction

NO, however...: Smoking cigarettes increases risk of blood clots as does taking Nexplanon &amp; those who use Nexplanon while smoking have unacceptable risks of blood clots. Smoking marijuana is not known to have the same increased risk of blood clots as smoking tobacco, though there is preliminary evidence that regular marijuana use may somewhat increase risk of blood clots, so to be safe I would avoid regular use.

can bier spots/vasoconstriction be linked to cannabis vaping? arms, chest & penile glans are covered in bier spots. dermatologist, family doctor, & vascular specialist all agree its blood flow related & not a skin issue. cant find anything wrong?

: You can prove it by stopping cannabis vaping especially if this skin change happened since the time you have done cannabis vaping. Bier spots, if they truly are, are benign.

Nobody knows: This isn't the place to discuss the cannabis laws or to compare the risks to those of alcohol. The world medical community mostly considers our harsh cannabis laws to be ill-advised. Nobody's documented that blood clots are a risk for cannabis smokers, and we'd probably know by now if it was. Still -- why use a "recreational substance" that makes people goofy? It's your choice.

Not true : Marihuana  can cause symptoms similar to schizophrenia, because often is laced many people end i. The er. My advise do not use it.

Up to weeks: The stuff also enters fat cells and may stay detectable for a long time especially if you're burning fat. One of the ironies of mandatory drug testing is that drug-users know marijuana stays detectable longer than the far more dangerous illegal drugs, so on friday night people decide to use intoxicants that are far more likely to do harm. Why not be "high on life" for now?

Yes, smoking is bad!: Research is not conclusive as to which is worse for your lungs:  cigarettes (depends on brand &amp; filter) or cannabis (depends on variety, smoking method: joint or water pipe).  But, yes, inhaling smoke into your lungs regularly increases risk of lung disease and/or cardiac disease.  Oral forms of cannabis pose less risk to lungs, but dose is harder to regulate. Data not in yet re hazards of vaping.
