Next move: Unusual for losartan to cause gi problems. See Ur doc for full discussion. Frequently a lower dose of a combo of meds can still be effective in treating HBP, while decreasing the annoying side effects. Edema well known side effects of Norvasc (amlodipine). Good luck.

Options: The next step will be to check your blood pressure whenever possible and get a baseline blood pressure. Lifestyle modifications are critical and they include a low salt diet, no alcohol, at least 7 h of sound sleep/24 h, weight loss if overweight. If this proves indeed to be hypertension there are many other options as far as anti hypertensives and they can be tailored to your other comorbidities.

Alternatively, it could be caused by nerve impingement of your upper (cervical) spine compressing the dorsal roots or of the peripheral nerves in your brachial plexus.

It shouldn't: Lisinopril is usually not associated with weight gain.  If one experiences weight gain on this medication, i believe it would be a good reason to see the pcp and get examined and some labs done.  It does affect the kidneys and an untoward problem could develop that would need attention.

hello! i take 10mg of lisinopril everyday- two 5mg tablets. today i only had 1 tablet with me so i had to wait to take the other half which was about an hour in between. will waiting the hour to take the other dose cause any issue with my bp?

ACE inhibition.: There is an enzyme in your lungs called angiotensin converting enzyme. It is inhibited by zestril (lisinopril).  As a result there is a local accumulation of products (possibly kinins, substance p and thromboxane) that triggers cough.  The cough is intermittent and nonproductive - some describe a tickle like cough.
