Be aware: There is very limited data for the use of this plant, particularly it's extracts.  Much of the literature focuses around testing in experimental models like rats.  There is much less suggestion about it's effectiveness in the case of cystitis, particularly infectious cystitis.

No can make it worse: Smelly urine suggests possible urinary infection. Interstitial cystitis reacts to urinary acidification from beverages or food like fruit juice, tomatoes or irritants like caffeine. Milk or making urine alkaline with sodium bicarbonate can help &amp; try bland diet with boiled or baked foo &amp; avoid fried or spicy food. Symptoms most often from UTI, but, can also be from stress or anxiety.

Effect: Patients with slow transit have a propensity to urinary infections due to bacterial translocation. In Crohn' s fistulas are notorious to create vicious paths that result in chronic contamination.

had cystitis 1 1/2 week ago that last 1 1/5 days and did not treat with abx as it went away on it's own, but since then i've been very bloated. exercise not helped, increased water intake due to hot weather, regular bowel movement and still bloated?

: Not related to cystitis. Try changing diet and OTC Pepto-Bismol if not better then pl see an MD

: Emergency small bowel resection due to an obstruction is a serious surgery which takes a while to recover from. You should not expect your bowels to be working properly yet. Are you still on IV fluids? That could explain the frequent urination. Your doctor will gradually increase your diet as your bowels come around. Hang in there. Most of the worst is likely behind you. Good luck.

Diarrhea and urine: Sometimes with diarrhea you can get  a urinary tract infection which can cause frequent urination. If you have diarrhea from diabetes  then  the diabetes or elevated glucose  can cause frequent urination. Pinworms can cause urinary tract infections. Follow with your doctor and check an urinanalysis/ urine culture.

Causes:: Partial list: overactive bladder, consuming large fluid volumes, diabetes mellitus or insipidus, bladder stones, interstitial cystitis, bladder or urethral diverticulum, bladder polyp or tumor, pregnancy, enlarged prostate, inflammed bowel or appendix pressing on bladder, anxiety, chronic kidney disease preventing water reabsorbtion after initial blood filttration, medication, esp. Diuretics.

Bacteria: Most of the instances of cystitis are due to coliform organisms. Sex does not cause cystitis the trauma from sex just makes it easier for the bacteria to take hold.

Maybe : This is a chronic nonbacterial bladder inflammation which can produce components leading to darker than usual. But then again there are other causes including lack of fluid intake leading the kidneys to concentrate urine.
