Having worked with many clients with OCD,  I would strongly suggest that you consult with a psychiatrist to describe your symptoms, provide a thorough history, and express your concerns. The psychiatrist should be able to guide you. I usually find a combination of therapy and medication works best.

Probably 12 g daily: An increase in inositol in the brain seems to be one of the outcomes of ssri treatment, so it's sensible to consider what might happen if one simply takes inositol. Studies have shown that it seems to work like the ssris. One study found that 6 g a day helped with depression, though 12 g were required in a double-blind study.  Sometimes it's difficult to tolerate because of flatulence and cramps.

The right dose: Inositol, one of the B vitamins, is not formally indicated for the treatment of OCD and has some interactions, including one with Lithium, that can be dangerous.  The literature suggests that between 2 and 18 gm/day in divided doses can be effective.  You should definitely talk with your health care provider before starting an inositol titration.

This is workable: Ssri medications can sometimes cause anxiety in the beginning.  When one has anxiety and ocd  there is region of the brain that is over active. Mindfulness meditation is very helpful. See kelly mcgonigal's the will power instinct. Inositol can be useful for ocd but one needs a very high dose ( up to 16 gm a  day).  Check 25-oh vit d3, it might be low.  A healthy life style helps, too.

Yes.: Epi-inositol or Vit. B3 has been used for mild to moderate anxiety, simple phobias, social phobia , Agoraphobia ,Panic Disorder and OCD. For OCD you have to use as much as 18 grams daily(powdered), starting at 4 grams twice daily for 3 days at a time and can be used with SSRI or St. John's Wort.

Inositol: It may elevate serotonin levels.  Not knowing the stage of the kidney disease or the filtration rate, i would say to ask your regular doctor about taking and dosing it, since they know you and your kidney function.

It's safe: You can take both medications .There has been trial of inisitol in ocd and you can take with vitamin B12
