Penile pain: It sounds like you have already had an extensive negative (normal results) work up. However the description of your pain sounds like it could be neurological origin. Perhaps check with a neurologist to assess possible sacral nerve dysfunction.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Low iron has been reported to be a cause of itchy skin and even hair loss.  If you have had a period for 4 months, it is a highly likely problem.  Hope you have been followed by your GYN doctor re. the period as well since it is by no means normal.  At the minimum, get a CBC to check for anemia. .

Cold compress: The nerve endings sending the "itchy" message to the brain slow down if you apply cold to the area. Sometimes the sensation of cooler skin will mask the brains perception of the itch message. You can toss some ice cubes &amp; water in a heavy zip-lock bag, wrap it in a face cloth or kitchen towel &amp; it will act as a cool compress. Hydrocortizone cream may also help.

Where are the warts?: If it is a safe location, you might be able to use a topical spray Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Lidocaine ointment or cream.

Not me.....: Personally. But i treat women with vulvar conditions caused by hpv that manifest themselves as itching and the conditions are hard to see with the naked eye. Vulvoscopy after treatment of the skin with a vinegar solution makes the skin abnormalities visible for biopsy. Do not try that at home though.

: HPV causes warts which may occur on the vulva, anal or perianal area.  These warts usually are painless, although they may cause itching, burning or bleeding.

Accepted Answer

Possibly herpes...: ..although more typically it causes a small ulcer(s) or open sore(s) rather than a bump. Stinging is certainly often present along with itching. Discharge +/-. HPV most often causes NO symptoms initially but may evolve into warts after a considerable amount of time. Your bumps may be vulvar cysts. The only way to know is to see you Doctor/OB/GYN for evaluation and necessary testing.

Possible herpes: A blister like that is more concerning for herpes than HPV. I would have your doc check it out in office at first available appointment to see what it truly is and appropriate treatment for it. Primary genital herpes may require antiviral medication and warrants a trip to the doctor.  Avoid unprotected sex until it is properly diagnosed (condom mandatory or abstain)

Genital HPV: Your HPV could be in the pubic area, but not likely. It probably doesn't matter anyway. HPV DNA under fingernails is common with genital HPV, but DNA doesn't necessarily mean live, transmissible virus. HPV is rarely transmitted elsewhere on the body (genital types of HPV rarely cause problems of the face, moth, eyes, etc). Also not transmitted to sex partners by fingering or hand-genital contact.
