Depends: If this is from an acute injury like a sprain, cold would be better. If this is more chronic or happening at the end of the day you would be better off using a compression sock. Let me know if I can be any more help.

Heat: Not hot enough to burn.  You should have written post-surgical instructions from your Oral Surgeon.  Follow them to the letter.

Foot swelling : Need more information but it could be related to heat as it causes vessels to dilate and gravity will keep them pooled around your feet

Coccyx: Ouch ! Tailbone trauma can really hurt. You might want to hold off a bit longer if there is no bruising or swelling before seeing the doctor. Take care.

Need a diagnosis: It may not be circulation. It could be  neurologic  or erythromelagia. Please  see your physician and get the approriate evalaution

Teeth or Sinus: The symptoms that you describe could be caused from tooth problem or sinus inflammation/infection. The cause can be determined but it requires a dentist to evaluate you in person with the help of x-rays and a clinical exam along with a medical and dental history. We can't and shouldn't  explain over the internet how you self determine a differential diagnosis.

7wk postsurgery for torn rotator cuff, nerve impingement, bone spur ground off&labrum repaired. my thumb,hand,forearm are swollen.have burning nerve pain.hurts bad to move wrist wrong. in pt. been icing and heating. how can i reduce swelling&pain?

It isn't really: The brain is highly protected from temperature extremes. But stay outside in high heat without drinking fluids for a long time, let your core temperature reach 104-105°f (this is called heat stroke), and your brain will swell. But you'll probably be comatose or nearly so, so you won't really notice. Some mammals have evolved more heat-tolerant nervous systems, e.g. The eland and the oryx.

Ice: Swelling inflammation cool vasoconstriction swelling goes down heat usually makes it worse.

Neck swelling: No, and it can actually make it worst. Ice pack would be better unless u have a salivary gland infection.
