Fertilaid: The "jury is still out" on whether this formulation is effective at enhancing fertility. I have seen no good well-controlled clinical trials addressing this supplement, only anecdotal stories touting its value on various blogs. It doesn't (no proof: I guess in theory it could, but there is no satisfactory evidence at this time that it works at all - for anybody. These products are not regulated and no clinically worthwhile studies have been published. Until some evidence appears supporting that it works, I'd avoid products like Fertilaid.

The current literature is filled with reports of improvements in semen parameters and even pregnancy rates when subjects are treated with these regimens. Definitive conclusions as to their true effects on male subfertility and dosing regimen have not been identified.

So so: Infertity is a very complex and a very very emotional problem to deal with. Any single product that claims to solve it with the taking of a pill is what is known as "magical" thinking. Most normal infertile couples (where all the tests are normal) get pregnant within 5 yrs. Frequently after a couple adopts the wife gets pregnant within 6 months. Those supplements are usually not necessary!!

Its a multivitamin: I had to look at the ingredients on the package insert. Fetilaid is simply a multvitamin. Grab a different brand next time you are at the store and compare the similarities to the many other prenatal vitamins. Any prenatal vitamin that you like is ok to take.

No proof effective: Funny, i thought you were asking about a uk product given where you live. But it turns out fertilaid for men & fertilaid for women are american dietary supplements. Therefore, there is no peer-reviewed published data of its effectiveness, much less any requirement to prove safety, as american dietary supplement manufacturers are allowed to make just about any claims to market their products.

These  herbal/dietary supplements can interact with other medications or cause side-effects of their own. Discuss with your ob/gyn.
