i went for a physical w my new primary care dr, but a testicular and hernia exam were not done. i wanted a complete physical. is this normal/how do i approach this in the future? i am 24 and value my health very much. i felt rushed. thanks?

Depends: It depends whether or not the work causes the hernia to become painful. Use common sense, and if it causes hernia pain, then it might be causing more damage. Hope this helps!

Esophagus: I am thinking this is more likely due to a spasm in the esophagus than a hernia. If they are disturbing then I would see your MD who may recommend a gastroscopy.

Most : Most hiatal hernias do not cause any problems at all. When they get bigger they can contribute to acid reflux symptoms like heartburn. Only when they become very large do they pose any significant health risk. Surgical repair with the laparoscope is a good option but should be reserved as the last resort.

Hiatal Hernia: Hiatal hernias can come and go, get better (especially with weight loss), and can get worse (with time and age, weight gain, increased abdominal pressure).  They can cause acid reflux, feeling full early, chest pain and even feeling short of breath).    Good luck.

You may be eligible: For medicaid , apply for it  and get it repaid., under president obama plan every one is supposed to be covered by health insurance,  why should you be the exception ?  Good luck.

Older patients, pressure from arthritic spurs. All can be treated non-surgically if not getting worse. Physical therapy, tylenol (acetaminophen) or aleve, nerve blocks, the combination works 80% of the time.

Unclear: This is really unclear. Were the feet feeling cold before the surgery at any time? That is probably from your hypothyroidism if it is hypo. It's unlikely your aorta was dissected.
