They are cheap, reliable and available  at any pharmacy. Consider switching to another method. Long term depo use is associated with bone loss leading to osteoporosis later in life.

Yes: Any hormone therapy can have effect on breast tissue.  Even though the shot is of medroxyprogesterone, it could still cause breast discomfort.  Ibuprofen should help, and if it persists, see your physician.

Pregnancy test: I will advise you to  do pregnancy test if that is negative then make sure you have right size bra ,also get a clinical breast exam and sonogram of breast ,get your hormonal panel checked ,make sure no smoking and avoid too much caffine and chocolate
