Not reported side ef: Interesting question.   Not a reported side effect.  A few studies have reported a decrease in androgen levels in both men and women on pravastatin. This could potentially lead to fat accumulation in the abdomen.  I would however look for other more common causes and especially be sure to check the thyroid function.

Probably not, but...: Unless you are at very high risk for heart disease, your numbers are actually quite good. Very high risk patients have a history of heart attack or stroke, diabetes, or artery blockage or two of the following: smoker, high blood pressure, family history of early heart disease, or age >45 (men) or >55 (women). Your doc will know how to risk-stratify you based on your medical history.

Monitor: It's an effective medication and widely used.  You should take it, especially as a diabetic.  Just keep close follow up with your physician.

NO: Never stop medication without speaking to the doctor that prescribed it for you. Although your numbers are currently great stopping the medication usually will allow those numbers to go back to prior elvated levels. Your doctor is also aware of your history and health conditions that may warrant continued treatment regardless of the normal numbers.

Change medication.: Assuming he is following a prudent, cholesterol-lowering diet and exercise plan, Pravastatin is not created with the intent of lowering the triglycerides, no matter what dose he tries.  Lipitor (atorvastatin) and Crestor will lower the cholesterol at safe doses, but they may be more expensive than Pravastatin, depending on his insurance plan.  But they will lower the triglycerides and keep LDL and HDL in check.

which statins offer cardiac help when there is cad with normal cholesterol that you recommend to ur patients: pravastatin, simvastatin or atorvastatin?

Various: If a patient has documented coronary artery disease and the total cholesterol and the LDL cholesterol are in therapeutuic range numbers, the options are open, and i may typically recommend Simvastatin or atorvastatin. Overall, pravastatin would have a lower expected efficacy, and so would tend to prefer agents which would have an increased expected effect.

Sure but + & - are ?: We have millions of compounds in our body, of our own production. You are worrying about a few supplements, some complex (beans); some very refined (pravachol) & intensively studied. By law, dshea 1994, see fda.Gov, if sold otc as a dietary supplement, the marketers are exempt from evaluating or proving their claims, so who knows? Ans: no one. Are trials of complex combo’s done? No; who would pay?

Yes and...: Congratulations on your progress? Intermittent fasting is the best way to lose the rest of the weight. Check out the book called the obesity code. Also, what is your current cholesterol? If you don’t want to start the cholesterol medication you can take red rice yeast which is over the counter. Good job!
