No: The surface of the cervix can be numb by spray or injection. This makes the procedure painless. Discomfort after is usually minimal. It does however depend on how much material is removed. Hope this helps. Best of luck

Mid cycle pain: Mid cycle pain with intercourse can be a sign of infection, endometriosis or other gyn problem. The ovaries are swollen and sensitive at that time and some level of tenderness is often seen then with nothing wrong. Get a check up with a gyn specialist for more advice.

Collision: This is known as collisional dyspareunia. Some women find collision with the cervix during intercourse pleasurable & can lead to more intense orgasm. Some women find it painful. Most women have an opinion on this if asked. Can occur due to size discrepancy, uterine prolapse, cervical infections, & uterine retroversion (tilted uterus).

It : It sounds like you are having quite a bit of pain.  You need to be evaluated and screened for infection or abnormalities of your cervix.  Please be sure that your pap smears are up to date.  If there is any chance that you could be pregnant, then please take a pregnancy test.  The pain/spotting would be from your vagina or cervix, and would be unrelated to your hips.

If you develop abdominal/pelvic pain, vomiting, fever, or light-headedness/fainting, then you would need to be seen as an emergency.

No: But it could be a sign of other problems please see your gyn for a work up the best way to tell if u are pg is a blood preg test , will be + before the missed period.

D/C normal: Sounds like a very normal discharge. Pain with sex can be for many reasons. You will need to see GYN or FP doctor to evaluate this if ongoing. They will be able to help you stay healty

Probably not: Cervical cancer rarely causes pain until it is very advanced. A common symptom is bleeding after intercourse but otherwise it has few symptoms which is why women should get their pap smears routinely. When the cancer is early or in its precancerous state, it has no symptoms.

See a doctor: Painful intercourse is not normal.  Please see your doctor for a complete evaluation.

my girlfriend is having intermittent moderate pain around the cervix two weeks after cervical erosion cauterisation. what may cause this?

Accepted Answer

That's not outside: of what would be expected with normal healing, although it's often difficult to interpret where pain in the vagina/cervix/uterus is actually coming from.  Nothing should have been inserted into the vagina up to this point. I think it would be safe to just watch and wait another week or so; contact her doctor if she is concerned in the meantime, especially if discharge or bleeding. Best wishes:)
