Ring worm: Tinea corporis (ring worm) is a fungal infection, and there are several over the counter medications/creams that my help.  Calamine lotion is drying and may help with an itch, but with the OTC creams as stated, they should suffice to treat the area.  Best wishes.

No: The only thing calamine lotion will help with is drying up blisters.  If there are blisters, then put it only on the blisters and not the normal skin.

Calamine tends to: Dry out skin. Keep sunburn cool w moist cool/cold compresses.  Avoid alcohol containing products.  Break off pieces of aloe vera plant & apply sap to  skin.  Consider non-steroidal anti-inflammatory meds to reduce pain. Don’t yank off peeling skin or burst blisters. Seek medical care for severe pain, fever, lack of improvement of symptoms within several days or if a large surface area is blistered.

Not really: Calamine lotion is good for drying up itchy spots.  You would be better off using benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid preparations.

Get a real Rx: Calamine lotion will disappoint you. Topical benzoyl peroxide is your best over-the-counter remedy. If this does not clear you in two weeks, see your physician. Acne is a serious, non-lifestyle-related, chronic disease that's a major personal and professional liability. Use "pop" remedies only as an adjunct.
