Unlikely but...: BPA has many negative effects on health. Even though you no longer bite on your glasses you are still likely exposed daily from other sources. BPA is just one of many common toxins that increase risk of cancer, but, while everyone has some BPA, few will get cancer from it. Accepted Answer

No: Short term exposure not likely to cause any harm.  Causation of cancer is unclear at times, however, vulvar cancer is more likely related to HPV infections.  Stop smoking if you do and get regular checkups to look for infections or abnormal lesions as best prevention.  Consider HPV vaccine as well.

Very Tough Issue: Bpa is a hot topic, nowadays.

Microwaving the plastic seems to worsen the problem.

Unfortunately, washing the plastic is just as bad.

Probably not, but...: There is not enough scientific evidence to make a conclusion regarding the safe limits of bpa ingestion during pregnancy.  Several nations around the world have placed bpa on lists of toxins that we should avoid and the U.S. Is now catching up!  in general, if you don't have to use bpa products, don't.  Also, i don't recommend heating foods in plastic or foam containers.

Wash: You can either wash your hands frequently (at least hourly) or wear gloves. However, I would not be too concerned about the amount you absorb into your system just from touching items containing BPA. It is more of a problem when ingested.

No: There's no evidence at this time that would indicate that this small risk of exposure is likely to cause serious problems for the baby.

Estrogen effects: Bpa has been shown to have mild estrogenizing effects. While not awful, they are there, and most people don't want them. However there are a lot of other things in the environment, such as air fresheners, perfumes, and cosmetics, that also have the same effect. So avoiding one thing and not the others doesn't help.

Avoid it: There's more we don't know than what is clear about the effects of bpa. Public health agencies have set safe exposure levels, but those assumptions are based on looking for cancers or other obvious toxicity.
