Inadeq lubrication: If vaginal lubrication is not adequate, the delicate skin at the opening of the vagina and in the vagina itself can be traumatized, causing pain.  If there is not enough natural lubrication, an over-the-counter lubricant (particularly a liquid one rather than a gel) can be helpful.

See your doctor: Soak in the tub and take pain reliever now.  Avoid intercourse and see your doctor asap to rule out infection.

Tincture of time: The best solution  is to wait for Mother Nature and the tincture of time to heal the area/ Hot sitz baths can soothe the area as well as over the counter 0.05% cream on the labia only and not inside the vagina or on the clitoris as it will cause painful swelling if applied in those areas. See a MD if the painful urination continues to be check for a UTI.

Quick: The vagina is a place that received a lot of blood circulation and so cuts tend to heal very quickly, but I would give it a week before any insertion or consider using a lot of lube when trying again to decrease the risk of these friction burns.

Tincture of time: First, this is what NOT to do. Do not continue intercourse or other vaginal stimulation until it heals. Do not place oil based ointments, lubricants, pads, or commercial products on the area. DO see a MD who can provide a safe Rx specific for treating the area if it is a "friction burn". Many time these issues will heal on their own if left to Mother Nature over time.

Herpes still likely: Latex allergy (i.e. condom) is possible not not likely; usually itching, not open sores. Other allergic reactions; rare disorders like Behcet&#x27;s disease; some non-STD viruses; others. But why so certain it isn&#x27;t herpes? That&#x27;s by far the most common cause of such symptoms, even among persons who are &quot;sure&quot; their partners couldn&#x27;t have it. See your doctor and follow her advice. Good luck!

Need to examine: A "friction burn" should heal in a couple of days. If your symptoms have lasted longer than that, it may be some thing else, e.g. herpes. If the symptoms have not abated in a couple of day, it would be prudent to consult your doctor, in-person.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
