Sensitive to alcohol: Your body may simply not like alcohol, and be showing this to you.  You could also be consuming other sedative-hypnotic or depressant medications, and in combination these build up -- making you sleepy.  Or, you may have less of the enzymes needed to process alcohol in your system.  Usually other symptoms would come along with this though, such as flushing and nasal congestion.

Poison: Alcohol is a metabolic poison and you just poisoned yourself. You will eventually recover from this poisoning, unless you choose to do this over and over again until you have permanent damage. Eat healthy (stay away from sugars and fried foods) get some rest and let your system recover.

See sleep doc: Specially if you have more sex drive and eating more. Acute fatigue of course can have reasons unrelated to sleep.

sometimes after an alcoholic beverage i feel more awake rather than tired? is there any science to this? i thought alcohol was supposed to make you relaxed and sleepy. maybe im just wired differently because stimulants make me sleepy...

Alcohol: Alcohol can be both a stimulant and a depressant agent. The former effect is felt to be more common with small amounts that relax inhibitions and may produce a mood of euphoria. Scientifically it's classified as a depressant primarily.
