No: There are no reported birth defects with the use of prescribed Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). There has also been no link found between use of Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) and development of autism. Does not mean a child born to a woman who used Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) can't develop autism - just does not happen at any increased incidence than the general population.

Yes: If you have been diagnosed with add. You can.Be treated the same way as others with add are treated.  Either Ritalin (methylphenidate) or Adderall are the most common initial medications.

Question is unclear: I'm not sure i understand what you are asking.  You describe an 11 year old child with adhd on an antipsychotic and an amphetamine.  The Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is most likely being used to treat the adhd.  I'm not sure why she is on the risperdal, and i'm not sure what you are referring to as to is this (what) a seizure.  Please clarify.

Antenatal factors : Some syndromes cause autistic spectrum disorder &amp; intellectual disability. Chromosomal microarrays  find genetic errors  in ~15% of kids with ASD. Maternal low  folate (folic acid) levels at conception, rubella, "flu", obesity, advanced age &amp; alcohol/drug use from 3 wks.post-conception-term are some epigenetic factors that alter function, but not structure or sequence, of fetal genes &amp; increase risk of ASD.

No known cause: There is currently no known cause.  A diagnosis is usually made after a psychiatrist or physician obtains a complete history and physical and bases the diagnosis on specific criteria.  Often a test called the ados can provide further information in making the diagnosis.

Yes...suspected: Not proven. There is a gene on chromosome 16 that may contribute. Heavy metal toxicity may contribute. Demyelination of nerves in the central nervous system can lead to it as can brain inflammation. There is no causal link to vaccines, but they are still suspect in the clinical experience of many parents and practitioners.

Tip Toes: Infants are born with relatively tight heel cords and initially will tip toe a lot. This slowly changes with time. But some will tip toe into toddlerhood and longer. If your child is older 4-5 you may want your doctor to evaluate. Of course there are other causes but you did not give any history on your child.
