Not advised: Taking any laxative daily can become addicting, and then you will have major problems if you ever stop.  Try not to use it more than 2-3 days in a row.

Depends: Since calcium tends to constipate, i'd tend to side with the sodium version. However, people with hypertension who are limiting their sodium intake should probably choose the calcium version. The docusate is the active component; so either version should work. Adding more fiber & fluids to your diet will help keep you regular, too.

Don't take calcium: You need to take sufficient vitamin d from sun or supplements to be in the high side of normal. This may require as much as 10, 000 units of vitamin d3 a  day.  Do not take  calcium supplements. All healthy unprocessed food contains calcium and all the other necessary minerals like magnesium.And zinc that you need. Small doses of zinc blocks osteoclasts. Cadmium plays a role in all these problems.

Calcium: Calcium carbonate is well absorbed and very well tolerated.It is usually a preferable to take a low dose of vitamin d long with a calcium supplement. Standard acceptable dose is 1200 milligrams of calcium per day.

thyroid removed 4 days ago, calcium, antibiotic, etc prescribed for 2 weeks, do i have to continue taking my eltroxin 50 (old dose) before new analysis?

Thyroidectomy: When you have thyroid surgery, you remove the gland that makes thyroid hormone.  Eltroxin is thyroid hormone replacement.  Usually, if you were on this before surgery, you will need to continue.  If your entire gland is gone, you may need more than you were taking.  If only part of you gland was removed, you might not need any changes.  You should check with your surgeon to make sure.

gastroenterologist prescribed bismuth subnitrate + calcium 50/50. dose is 'tip of a knife' 4/day for 1month, followed by probiotics for 1month.then repeated. dosage is vague, can i take too much bismuth this way? is there a safe upper limit in grams?
