Why quadruplets?: Start with discussing this question with your regular ObGyn. Why do you want quadruplets? Pregnancies with more than 1 fetus are considered higher risk for both babies and mothers, especially if more than twins. The goal for fertility doctors is a happy, healthy outcome for both Mom and infants- not setting the record for the most babies in a single pregnancy. Please evaluate your goals for quads.

Word of mouth: Best reviews often come form word of mouth and other patients who have seen the dr.  Most general surgeons do hernia repairs and I am sure you could call any major hospital in the chicago area and ask to be connected to the surgery dept/office or for a list of surgeons, than ask the dr. In consultation how many hernia repairs s/he does and their success rate, etc.  Best wishes.

Doctor referrals: I'm not in chicago, but i know there are a lot of academic centers there. They often have a medical school attached, with a psychiatry department that has its own clinic. That's a good place to start. Also, google "psychiatrist chicago bipolar adhd" and check out the bios on the doctors that are listed. Your local and county health department may also have a list of referrals. Good luck!

Your : Your best bet would be a cancer program attached to one of the medical schools in chicago, such as northwestern or the university of chicago.  Those facilities are used to managing difficult cases like this and have access to research protocols that may not be available elsewhere.

It's hard to know, without more information, which specialists would be involved in your friend's case.  For example, if there is active, progressive disease in both the liver and lung, and if both sites have been called inoperable, then it will probably be a medical oncologist.  If the disease is stable in one site but progressive in the other, then organ-specific local therapy like radiation, radiofrequency ablation, chemoembolization, radioisotope embolization, and other options may exist. In such cases, the group of doctors might expand to include radiation oncologists, surgeons, and interventional radiologists, among others.
