Benign: These are a noncancerous, and common, localized tangle of blood vessels. Not to worry.

23 y.o female, suffering from palpitations esp. in the morning.  done(holter, ecg, ekg, abdominal ultrasound, blood tests). holter showed sinus tachycardia at 178 bpm. i also have low blood pressure. any idea what it is? doctors are confused.

Possible: pseudo hypoaldosteronism, variant. Ask your doctor, treatment is fludrocortisone acetate, salt and fluid mangement.
Variant can have low blood pressure and unexplained tachycardia.

Pelvic  pain: Complete history and ohysical exam including pelvic, abdominal, musculoskeletal, rectal exam, neurologic and sensory. Consider trial of pain medications, oral contraceptives or other hormonal therapies. If pain persists then consider minimally invasive surgery like laparosocopy.

Autoimmune disease: It appears you may have an autoimmune disease. Consult a rheumatologist  or immunologist for help.

if first trimester abdominal ultrasound was not accurate why would doctors do them? does it depend on your body type? just curious.

Ultrasound dating: First trimester ultrasound is accurate within 5-7 days.  There is no test that can date conception more accurately than a 1 week window.   While ultrasounds can be limited in obese people, as long as they can visualize fetus, measurements will be accurate. Transvaginal ultrasounds can be more accurate but more invasive.  Getting a more accurate date is unnecessary; babies rarely respect due date!

i am a 30 year old female and i had severe abdominal pain approx two weeks ago and also had a negative abdominal ultrasound at his time.  the pain pretty much went away.  this morning  i had a physical and when my doctor palpated my abdomen it was tender

Abdominal pain: Abominal pain can be for multiple reasons. Although the ultrasound was negative it does not mean the pain was not g;ynecological.  An ifection could still be possible or
endometriosis.  Abdominal wall pain coudl be possible or some type of bowel problem.

why would a doctor order an abdominal ultrasound to determine bleeding?

Non-invasive: Before proceeding to surgery your doctor wants to know the results of a simple procedure which may provide valuable information.   They are proceeding cautiously in a systematic progression of tests.  Ultrasound is not invasive and can yield valuable info.  Keep up with this good doctor.  Also, why don't you ask them why they are doing this.

is an abdominal ultrasound accurate at 6w4d? could it pick up my heartbeat instead of the baby's? the tech told me the heartbeat was 100 but later the doctor said it was 70? so confused. please help?

: The fetal heart (and heartbeat) can usually be detected at a gestational age of 6w4d.  Fetal heart rates are usually higher than 100 and certainly 70, so this may be a maternal reading.  For assessment of fetal growth, repeat the U/S in a couple weeks, and/or obtain a quantitative HCG determination to help ensure normal progress of fetal growth.

what is lobulated kidney ? doctor said not worry after the abdominal ultrasound, yet she still wants to repeat the ultrasound again after 3 months. ? any reason for concern. ? thank you?

Accepted Answer

: A normal variant of kidney development. Assuming there were no cysts or stones etc no worries.  But your dr knows much more about you than I do.
