Mindset : Like those that chose to ride without a seat belt some folks are convinced that nothing bad can ever happen to them. Some midwives push the "you control everything" idea & set it up like a cocktail party. Sad that the kid gets no vote in the matter. They think they can go to the hospital if things go bad, not realizing that the delay may put junior in a grave or a wheelchair.

Home delivery: Because they want to be in a relaxed, familiar environment and do things naturally. I am concerned about ability to respond to complications in the setting of a home delivery.

Main causes are:: hemorrhaging, Infections &amp; markedly elevated blood pressure.  There are mainly other possible causes.

Theoretically: A woman who was artificially inseminated through a narrow tube could retain an intact hymen.If the child was then delivered c-section it would remain so.If neither was the case, it cannot happen.

Baby over 40: The risks of pregnancy do rise with age.  For example the risk of miscarriage rises to 1 in 4.  The risks for mom also increase including hypertension and diabetes.

If...: If this question is about having protein in the urine in a pregnant patient it all depends on what stage of pregnancy she is at. A trace is not usually an issue but we would need more information like her blood pressure levels, headaches, among other symptoms. My recommendation is to follow up with her OB closely on this and possibly repeat a urine to make sure there are no new changes.

By cesarian section: Although hymen is slmost invariably broken with sex. Thus would have had to have artificial insemination or in vitro fertilization if hymen intact during pregnancy, unless partner has or had avery small penis.

Depends on anemia: A woman who is a thalassemia carrier and/or has only mild anemia should not have an unusual labor and delivery. If she has severe anemia, her heart may be already stressed out from having to pump extra volumes of blood during the pregnancy. Her ob-gyn doctor can better discuss the risks of delivery.

There is no...: ...Question that hypnosis (or self-hypnosis) during birth would help control the pain; in fact, the common instruction to "blow away" the contraction is part a hypnotic suggestion.

Well: Well I had an ancestor who was the 25th child his mother gave birth to (She had many multiple births)  - but that is the exception to the rule. Woman do not maintain fertility indefinitely. I imagine it would be pretty exhausting to always be pregnant. Most men continue to produce sperm even into old age.
